Event programme:
Friday 9th
December. Evening ; - Council
meeting and informal social evening for everyone.
Saturday
10th December; Gundog day
at the Ladies Kennel Association Show ( LKA). All sporting spaniel
breeds are presented at this prestigious championship show. For
guests who purchase a conference ticket there is free admission,
catalogue and free refreshments during the day at the show.
Overseas Exhibitors may enter their dogs subject to compliance with
dog passport regulations. As this is a Christmas show there is a
large number of trade stands to cater for all tastes.
Evening;- informal dinner
at one of several locations in the vicinity or the opportunity to
visit Birmingham’s Continental Christmas Market, only a short train
ride away.
Sunday 10th
December. European Spaniel
Conference. There will be guest speakers on a variety of topics
including developments in spaniel health testing/DNA; working with
sporting spaniels ; breeding and rearing puppies; as well as some
breed specific talks.
During the conference there
will be opportunity to chat with representatives of the UK sporting
spaniel clubs and to purchase breed specific items.
Lunch and refreshments will
be provided. The cost for the day will be approx 25 euros.

The congress hotel is the
Express by Holiday Inn which is situated within the NEC complex
where the LKA show is held. The hotel features good accommodation
which accepts dogs.
The NEC complex at
Birmingham will be well known to many as the home of Crufts dog show
and it is located close to rail and road links from all major cities
in the UK as well as being next to Birmingham International Airport
from where a shuttle bus runs to the hotel.
The United Spaniel
